2022 Senior Scholar: Zubin Arman Abraham-Ahmed

Zubin Arman Abraham-Ahmed is a political science major with minors in criminal justice and leadership studies from Seattle, Wash. While at Morehouse, he has been a two-time national champion in National Parliamentary Debate and the Social Justice Debate format for the Morehouse Debate Team; founder and primary leader of the Maroon Party, a Black Nationalist and Socialist organization; founder and coordinator of Sunrise Atlanta University Center, an environmental justice organization; historian of Morehouse C.H.I.L.L. - a mental health advocacy organization. In his hometown, he has been involved in the creation of the Restorative Community Pathways as well as a supporter for CHOOSE180, a youth advocacy program.

After commencement, Zubin will continue his social justice activism and community organizing, while attending Georgia State University's School of Law this fall.

When reflecting on his Morehouse experience, he says it “has been exciting, to say the least. It has certainly been challenging but I would not change much about my experience. The most fulfilling part about my time at Morehouse has been the strength of the community throughout everything. What made my transition into the college the most enjoyable was getting to know everybody at DuBois, my freshman dorm. The Morehouse experience is characterized by making your own success with the help of the ones around you and finding your community.”

Zubin advises prospective students of Morehouse to “find the community and support that you will need. Do not doubt your capability, but keep in mind your capacity. I would tell them ‘good luck,’ but also to never forget to advocate for themselves.”
